It is a wholistic practice in terms of treating the entire person: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. As an important component of TCM, acupuncture is the application of sterile fine needles through the skin in specific points lying on meridians or channels coursing through the body. Acupuncture helps to move Qi or the energetic life force through the channels, thereby helping to improve a person's well being. Acupuncture is used as a treatment for many acute or chronic conditions such as pain, digestive difficulties, skin problems, reproductive conditions, and stress.

Zen Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork therapy that incorporates acupressure on points on meridians or channels on the body. The therapy includes the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concept of moving Qi or the life force throughout the body, balancing of energies, and working on releasing physical, mental, and emotional constraints in the body. It cultivates mindfulness and well-being in both the giver and receiver. It is an excellent therapy for dealing with chronic conditions such as pain, stress, PTSD, allergies, and Lyme disease. Although the patient does not have to remove clothing for this treatment, the patient should wear comfortable and loose fitting clothing such as yoga or exercise outfits.
